Graduated in Dentistry at the University of Modena, specialized in Orthodontics at the University of Cagliari, he attended Dr. Giuseppe Cozzani's Center for Studies and Research in Orthodontics Adjunct Professor for the University of Modena in 1992-1993. In 1990 he went to Tucson (Arizona) to attend the advanced course in Edgewise Mechanics at the Tweed Foundation for Orthodontist Research. He is a member of the Italian Association of Orthodontic Specialists and an ordinary member of SIDO. He is the author of several publications in major international journals.
